Alan Hunt, 67, passed away December 4, 2023, in Springfield, Missouri.

Alan was born September 1, 1956, in Kansas City, MO to Doris and Merrill Hunt who preceded him in death.  He graduated from Winnetonka High School in 1974.  As a young teen he was proud to become an Eagle Scout and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.  Later as an adult he enjoyed the many activities of skiing, golfing, motorcycle riding, hunting, and fishing.  Each September a vacation was planned and enjoyed with his wife.

Alan's 30+ year career with the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department began August 15, 1977 until his retirement as Captain on December 30, 2007.  Life-long friendships were formed with his "brothers and sisters" on the KCFD.  He was very proud of his service.

Alan enjoyed 16 years of retirement working on many home improvement projects at "Tick Farm".  His latest and greatest joys were fishing and raising chickens.

Alan was strong and solid in his beliefs and opinions.  He truly had a heart of gold.  He was caring, sincere, honest, and always willing to help others. He never knew a stranger.

Alan leaves behind his wife of 26 years, Debbie, to carry on without him.  He is also survived by his brother Scott (Sharon) Hunt, daughter Alana (David) Evans, and a grandson Hunter Evans.  He is also survived by many other family members and friends including the KCFD Local 42 brotherhood.

Alan will be missed by so many who love him.  Hold on tight to the memories; he was a wonderful man.  May he rest in peace.

A celebration of life will be held March 23, 2024, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at IAFF Local 42, 6320 Manchester Ave, Kansas City MO.
