Albert F. Sciara, 90, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, February 25, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 26, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106. Burial will follow in Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery.
Albert was born August 12, 1925, in Kansas City, MO, to Guiseppe and Catarina "Katie" (Monistere) Sciara. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of Teamsters Local 41 and retired from Smith Transfer. After his retirement he became a custom home builder.
Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Lucia Anna "Lucy" Sciara, in 1991; sister, Jean Debaare; and brothers, Joseph Sciara and Infant Vincent Sciara. Survivors include his daughters, Cathy Sciara, Rosetta Gallo (Sam), Lisa Sciara; grandchildren, Sammy, Albert, and Tony Gallo, Danny Sciara-Hernandez; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Ida Fleshman; brother, Vincent Sciara; brother-in-law, Joe Etiopia; special nephew and niece, Alex and Sharon Garcia; and several other nieces and nephews.
Albert was a loyal and devoted husband who never missed a single day in 25 years of visiting his beloved wife's grave.
