Alberto Alva Quintero, age 105 years, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Wednesday morning, August 30, 2023, at his home.  Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 907 Cesar Chavez Ave., Kansas City, MO 64108. Burial will follow at Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery.

Alberto was born April 8, 1918, in Mexico City, DF and came to the United States after serving in the Army. He married Maria Diaz on October 17, 1953, in Kansas City, MO. Alberto came to the United States by way of Mexico's government exchange of workers with the United States of America, through the Union Pacific Railroad line. Albert worked on many railroad lines through Union Pacific as a laborer, then was promoted to machinist. He was a Union machinist until he retired in 1983.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Maria; daughter Paula Milam of Arizona; infant son Francisco Quintero; his parents Paula Alva and Benjamin Quintero; four brothers and one sister.

Albert's surviving children are Benjamin Quintero, Ysidro Quintero of Iowa, Linda Huff of Missouri and spouse Dan, Daniel Quintero Sr. of Missouri and spouse Yolanda, Carmen Quintero of Kansas, Juanita Quintero of Missouri, Victoria Henrikson of Michigan and spouse John, and Eva Quintero of Arizona. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
