Alex Xuan Dinh, 17, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on April 26th, 2026, at University Health Truman Medical Center.

Alex was born on May 9th, 2008. He was a legacy student at Della Lamb, now known as Kansas City International Academy. During that time, he played soccer for GlobalFC. Attending Lincoln College Preparatory Academy for high school, he was a letter winner in soccer and 3-year letter winner in volleyball and was 2nd team all-district. Alex loved eating Vanilla Wafers, being around friends and family, and making those around him laugh. He is survived by his parents Ninh Dinh (father) and Trang Nguyen (mother), and his brothers Brandon Dinh and David Dinh. Alex will be remembered for his unwavering dedication and loyalty to friends and family. His smile and laughter were contagious to those that were around him. He was a selfless person who always made sure the people around him were in good spirits.

A celebration of his life service will take place at Passantino Bros Funeral Home on Saturday, May 9th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and on Sunday, May 10th from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is advocating for mental health, requesting donations to the Cornerstones of Care , a non-profit organization dedicated to partnering with children and families to build safe and healthy communities.
