Alfonso Lozano Martinez, age 82, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away October 19th, 2024, peacefully at home. Services will be held on Monday, October 28. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, followed by the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to his wife Maria E. Contreras.
Alfonso was born October 30, 1941, in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico then later settled in California. There he reconnected with his childhood friend Maria Contreras and together they built a family. Eventually they relocated to Kansas City where Alfonso worked for Wagner Industries until his retirement. His diverse skills included chiropractic work, electricity, plumbing, coaching and construction. A devout Catholic, he dedicated much of his time to the church and praying for the sick always ready to lend a helping hand. His greatest accomplishments were his children and his role as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Alfonso was preceded in death by his parents Braulio Lozano and Maria Martinez. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Maria E. Contreras; his children Maria De La Luz Lozano Barbosa, Mercedes Lozano, Irma Patricia Lozano, Veronica Lozano, Yadieras Contreras, Leonela Lozano, Damian Lozano, Alejandra Lozano, Jazmin Lozano; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
