Obituary

Amari Dana Hansen was born May 17, 2004, and transited December 25, 2023.

Amari was the youngest of three siblings. He loved and adored his family. He graduated from Lee's Summit North High School in 2022. After graduation, he trained to be an elevator mechanic and started his career with Access Elevator & Lifts. Amari recently moved to Texas with his sister to explore new beginnings. He loved being near the beach and the warm weather Texas offered. Amari loved to watch sports and his favorite team was the Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed dancing, singing karaoke, playing basketball, and doing what he did best - cracking jokes. Amari had a laugh and smile that was contagious. He was always happy and always making everyone around him laugh. He had such a kind spirit and would do anything for the people around him. Amari will be greatly missed. His legacy will forever be cherished.

Amari is survived by his mother Sarah Hansen-Simms; sister Tiarra Coleman; brother  Malik Hansen; and step-grandmother Carol Hansen. He was preceded in death by his father Myron Jackson; grandfathers James Hansen and Maron Jackson; and grandmothers Dana Sheil and Alice Jackson.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 8, at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Malik Hansen, Matt Puckett, Patrick Cowley, Jermaine Simms, Donald Carroll, Joey Farquar, Johnnie Hansen, and Kevin McCoy.
