Andrew "Henry" Inzerillo, 101, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 20, 2025. A service to honor Andrew's life will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025, at St. Gabriel Archangel Parish, located at 4737 N. Cleveland Ave., Kansas City, Missouri 64117. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with Mass following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery.

Born on November 9, 1923, Andrew grew up in the North End. He attended Karnes School and graduated from Manual High School in 1940.  He often reminisced about his time as a young boy at the age of 7 years old, selling newspapers downtown—buying them for a penny and selling them for three cents. Occasionally, if he was lucky, he'd even make a nickel! In addition to his newspaper sales, Andrew worked as a telegram delivery boy. One memorable delivery was to the comedian Jack Benny, who, true to his reputation, didn't tip him. Known for his quickness, Andrew earned the nickname "FLASH" for delivering telegrams with lightning speed so he could return for more. He used the money he earned to help provide pasta for his family.

In 1943, Andrew enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country during World War II. He worked as a marksman, radio operator, military police officer, and tank driver, earning the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in November 1944.

Ater the war, Andrew took on various jobs, including working as a milkman and a postal worker. His longest and most successful career was with Prudential Insurance, where he served as an agent for 28 years, winning numerous awards. He always noted that while he worked for Prudential for 28 years, he was fortunate to enjoy a pension for 39 years.

Following his retirement from Prudential, Andrew continued to stay active. He dedicated over 2,000 hours as a volunteer at North Kansas City Hospital, repairing wheelchairs and helping in various capacities. He also worked at the IRS, opening envelopes for 32 hours a week, even three months after his 100th birthday.

Andrew was an engaged citizen, frequently attending Kansas City Council meetings, where he never hesitated to voice his opinions. He proposed the idea of recycling by bringing bottles and plastic containers to council meetings long before the initiative was implemented.

Andrew was very proud to be one of the originators  of the American Sons Of Columbus Organization, of which he held office,  a member for many years and was presented as an Honorary Member.

He was married to Anna Rose Vaccaro for 57 years, and together they raised a loving family. Andrew often referred to his six children as "four kings and two queens," a testament to the deep affection he had for them.

Andrew was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Rose, in 1997; his sons Benny C. Inzerillo in 2004 and Louis J. Inzerillo in 2023; and his great-granddaughter Julianna Rose Blanck in 2011. He is survived by his sons Andrew L. Inzerillo and Dr. Carl A. Inzerillo (Mary); daughters Rosanna Scaglia and JoMarie Sample (Lee); and daughter-in-law Sylvia M. Inzerillo (Benny). His legacy lives on through his nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Andrew's warmth, kindness, and positive attitude left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
