Angelina Catherine Bonello, age 82, of Lee's Summit, MO went to meet her Savior Jesus Christ and reunite with all her deceased family members in Heaven on January 4, 2023 at Villages of Jackson Creek Nursing Home in Independence, MO after a long and courageous battle with dementia.
Services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Independence, MO. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd, Independence MO 64055.
Angelina was born May 17, 1940 in Kansas City, MO. She attended both Hawthorne High School in Hawthorne, CA and Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO. She married Sam Bonello on February 15, 1962 and remained married to him for 57 years until his death. She dedicated her life to the care of her family and home. She enjoyed baking and loved to share her cookies with family and friends. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Raytown, MO until the parish closed in 2022. She participated in many activities and fundraisers to support the parish school which her grandson Josh attended.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Catherine Rizzo (DiPaola); her husband Sam Bonello; and daughter in law Elizabeth Hagar Bonello.
She leaves behind her sons Joseph Bonello (Belinda Johnson) and Peter Bonello; grandson Josh Bonello (Hannah); great grandson, Henry; sister Teresa Margarita (Michael); sister-in-law Anna Mangiapanello; nieces, Emilia Cascone (John), daughters Sofia and Isabella; and Cathy Margarita, sons Michael and Nathan Fletcher; and numerous nieces and nephews in Italy.
We want to thank Crossroads Hospice, Villages of Jackson Creek, and her prior residence Addington Place of Lee's Summit for the great care, compassion, and kindness that was given to her.
