Angelo Joseph Falcone (A.J.) passed away on August 10, 2025, in Leawood, Kansas, just weeks before his 93rd birthday. He was born August 30, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Theresa Bruno Falcone and Joseph Falcone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marie Falcone Whitmer, and ex-wives Nina Gallagher Falcone, and Marge Savoy Falcone. He is survived by his daughters, Laura Falcone Curran and Alicia Falcone, his stepson Bob Kralicek, their spouses, eight grandchildren and their spouses, and two great-grandchildren, along with his nephews, nieces, their families, and his brother Bob Falcone.

Angelo earned degrees in economics and law from UMKC and practiced law for over 60 years, retiring at age 89.  During this time, he provided sage advice and wise counsel to his clients.  He was also generous with family and friends when his advice was needed and often sought.  He approached every life problem/challenge from a pragmatic, and analytical perspective, but always with an optimistic viewpoint.

His estate will contribute to a UMKC law scholarship, reflecting his belief in education as a path to opportunity—a value rooted in his Italian-American heritage. His legal career allowed him to support his family in ways his immigrant ancestors could only dream of.

AJ deeply loved his family, which earned him the title of adored grandfather and beloved uncle.  He was a good friend to many.  He was a proud Italian-American and a member of the Kansas City UNICO chapter. He enjoyed spending time with the friends he met through the group, Singles of Nativity.

His lake house was his happy place, where he welcomed family and friends for boat rides, skiing, tubing, and sunset cruises, often followed by grilled Italian sausages, burgers, or chicken.

A curious and open-minded traveler throughout his life, AJ explored Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Central America, and all across North America.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64106, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. A celebration of his life will continue immediately after at Cascone's Restaurant, 3737 N. Oak Trafficway, Kansas City, MO 64116.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the UMKC School of Law Foundation (scholarship fund) or to Children's Mercy Hospital (Pediatric Research).
