Obituary

Anna Josephine (Mangiaracina) Ferrara, 94, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 5106 St. John Ave., Kansas City, MO 64123, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Our mother loved company and always wanted friends and family around. She worked for years at Fashionbilt as a beautiful embroiderer and seamstress until she was 64 years old, when she retired. She loved to sew, cook and bowl, she was on a bowing leagued with her friends. Her grandsons think she was the greatest Nana in the whole wide world. Anna was a wonderful mother and we enjoyed her company. She had a great personality and we'd sit around and laugh all the time with her, she will be missed dearly by all. We all loved her.

Anna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Frank John Ferrara, on February 19, 1990; her mama and papa, Johanna (Armato) and Salvatore "Sammy" Mangiaracina; her sisters, Mary Bonavia, Angela Maggio, Louise Cavallaro, Carrie, Josephine and Frances Mangiaracina; and her brothers, Tony, Sam and George Mangiaracina.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta Ferrara, Carolyn and Saverio "Sonny" Salzano, Johanna and Johnny "Bo" Dorcy; her grandchildren, Anna Louise Ferson and Eric Ferson, Jennifer and Jasper Cangelosi, Nicholas Frank Dorcy, Michael David Dorcy; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Collin Ferson, Nicholas Jasper and Enza Angelina Cangelosi; sisters-in-law, Antoinette Mangiaracina and Mary Ann Wells; and many nieces and nephews.
