Anna R. Piranio, 98, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2017, at Carondelet Manor. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. followed by Visitation until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 22nd, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO 64131, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Anna was born June 16, 1919, in Kansas City, MO, to Ernest and Marie (Santucci) Mancini. She worked in a macaroni factory and at Lake City Ammunition Plant during the Korean War. She enjoyed crocheting with her club girls. Most importantly, she was a wonderful homemaker, an incredible mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore Piranio in 1986; her parents; her sisters, Catherine Glorioso and Gloria Beard; and her brothers, Tony, Angelo and Victor Mancini.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Anthony Leardi; her grandchildren, Diane and Paul Dominick, Anthony and Beth Leardi, Kim and Sal Carollo, Michael and Carlene Leardi; her great-grandchildren, Dr. Anthony Dominick, Paul Dominick, Nicole Dominick, Anthony Carollo, Michael Carollo, Abby Leardi, Michael Leardi and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Dr. Anthony Dominick, Paul Dominick, Anthony Carollo, Michael Carollo, Michael Leardi, and Jerry Glorioso.
The family offers thanks to the staff of Crossroads Hospice, and a special thank you to the loving and caring staff of Carondelet Manor for the care given to Anna.
