Obituary

Annette Mary Donnici Belfonte, 80, Gladstone, MO, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2020. Visitation will begin at 9-10:45 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1357 NE 42nd Terr., Kansas City, MO 64116. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Sister Servants of Mary or City Union Mission.

Annette was born on April 28, 1940, in Kansas City, MO, to Al and Finell Donnici, and graduated from Holy Rosary Grade School and Cardinal Glennon High School. After graduating from high school, Annette attended Aladdin Beauty College and enjoyed working in cosmetology for several years.  Annette later worked in retail at The Jones Store and Macy's until her retirement.  However, Annette's favorite role was taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren.

Nothing compared to the love and dedication Annette had for her family and friends.  She married the love of her life, John B. Belfonte, on September 16, 1961.  They had two children who in turn gave them three grandchildren.

Annette was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-six years John B. Belfonte; her parents, Al and Finell Donnici; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Bea Belfonte; her sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and John McCalla; and her brother-in-law John Distefano.   Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Jeanetta Belfonte; her daughter, Patricia Belfonte Pollina; grandchildren, who meant the world to Annette, Madeline Ann Belfonte, John Michael Belfonte and Anthony John Pollina; sister Josephine Distefano; brother and sister-in-law Anthony and Paula Donnici; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jacqueline Belfonte Covey and John Garcia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Annette was a devout Catholic and active in serving the Lord throughout her lifetime.  Annette will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity and will be missed by those who had the honor and privilege of knowing her.
