Obituary

Annette M. Saia 95, passed away Monday June 18, 2012 at KC Hospice House. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Thursday, June 21 at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., K.C. MO., where the Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 22 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 309 Benton Blvd. K.C.MO. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to K.C. Hospice House.

Born to Sicilian immigrant parents, Joseph & Anna (Indelicato) Correnti on Aug. 8, 1916. The eldest of 5, she entered the work force full time at the age of 13 working in a cigar factory. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph S. Saia. She was a devoted mother, grandmother & great grandmother & caregiver, nursing both her mother and beloved husband Joe in her home until their deaths.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Josephine & Marie: brother, Frank; brothers- in-law & sisters- in-law, Anthony Accurso, Ross Lipari, Mike & Dorothy Saia and Marge Saia.

She is survived by her 4 daughters and husbands, Frances Ann (Michael) Dorrell, Jo Marie (Rich) Thornhill, Charlene (Mike) Poppa, & Geraldine K. (John ) Toth. 11 grandchildren, Michelle Dorrell, Jennifer (Joe) Winckler, Angela Dorrell, Richard & Peter Thornhill, Michael J. Poppa, Jamie (Sean) Elwood, Jenie ( Dan) Wooldridge, Joseph, John & Jacquelyn Toth. 4 Great- grandchildren, James Dorrell, Lila & Nora Elwood & John Michael Wooldridge. One sister, Marguerite Accurso & sister in-law Frances Lipari, many nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren & friends.

Pallbearers: Michael J. Poppa, Angela Dorrell, Joseph Toth, John Toth, Joe Winckler & Ronald Walker.

Honorary Pallbearers: John Toth, D.O., Richard Thornhill, Peter Thornhill, Sean Elwood, Dan Wooldridge, Matt Accurso & Michael A. Accurso.

Special thanks to Reba & Ronnie Walker, who without their love & devotion, Mom would not have been able to have stayed in her beloved 510 for as long as she did…
