Obituary

Anthony Amaro, 82, Raymore, MO, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., KCMO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 30, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., KCMO 64106. Entombment will follow in Mount Olivet Mausoleum. Please omit flowers.

Anthony was born June 2, 1932, in Kansas City, MO, to Rocco and Mary Amaro. He lived his dreams of being a firefighter and having horses, retiring from the KCMO Fire Department, and owning Amaro Arabians Training Center. He was a member of the GKCAHA and IAHA, and was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sam, Carl, Joe, and Johnny Green Amaro; sisters, Carmen Fasone, Frances Termini, Jennie Amaro; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, George Mangiaracina, Notzie and Vita Rotolo.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lucille (Sola) Amaro; his children and their spouses, Mary Ann and Marvin Davis, John and Lynn Amaro, Michael and Kathleen Amaro; grandchildren, David and Samuel Amaro, Matthew, Ashley and Joshua Davis; two great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Amaro, George and Rama Sola, Jean and Tom Ruffalo, Antoinette Mangiaracina, Minnie and Jay Scardino; many nieces and nephews; and best friends, Joe Battaglia, Gus Spallo, and Larry Smith.
