Anthony P. Lomonte, Sr., 93, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, January 29, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where a prayer service will begin at 2 p.m. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 30, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64138.

Anthony was born October 19, 1923, in Kansas City, MO, to Ralph and Josephine (DiGiovanni) Lomonte, and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was known as 'The Gentleman's Tailor' when he began his tailoring trade with the Army and then went on to work for Jack Henry's on the Country Club Plaza, Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary, Mallards in Prairie Village, KS, and Sax Fifth Avenue also on the Country Club Plaza. So soft spoken, he acquired the nickname 'Mouse' as a child from his peers. As a supervisor he mentored and trained numerous employees ranging from immigrants to federal prisoners in the fine art of tailoring. He was highly respected for his generosity and skills. We are very thankful as a family to have lived and shared life with him. He will be sorely missed; it will not be the same without him. He was full of life and every one could feel it in his presence.

Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Enza, in 1991; his grandson, Christopher Lomonte; and his brothers, Joe and George. He is survived by his sons, Joseph (Andrea), Ralph (Tracy M.), Thomas (Mitzi), Anthony (Jill); 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, John Randazzo (Beverly).
