Obituary

Anthony James "Nene" Cusumano, 92, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday, August 27, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 28, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 309 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Anthony was born December 5, 1924, in Kansas City, MO, to Anthony and Mary (DiSalvo) Cusumano. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, serving as a Seaman First Class aboard a hospital ship in the Pacific, and was a member of Campo-Manfre-Barbieri Post 151 of the American Legion. He was a longtime member of Assumption / St. Anthony Parish where he was active with the Men's Club.
Nene was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marianne (Caruso) Cusumano, in 2013. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Frank A. Cusumano, Joseph C. and Vicki Cusumano; granddaughters, Mollie Marie Smith and husband Scott, Joette Lee Baker and husband Corey; great-granddaughters, Bailey, Giuliana and Jolina Smith, Logan Baker; and many nieces and nephews.
