Anthony "Tony" Pace was born March 17, 1942, in Kansas City, MO. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, with his family by his side.

From an early age, Tony worked alongside his father and his brother, Frank, in his parent's grocery store, Tony Pace's Market in Northeast. It was within this very grocery store that Tony met the love of his life, Carol. They were just shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

In 1977, Tony and his brother Frank opened Pace's Market in Greenwood, Missouri. They ran a successful business for over 15 years. Part of their success stemmed from establishing a delivery service providing groceries to the residents at John Knox Village.  In addition, they were well known for their Italian sausage recipe.

After retiring from the grocery business, he became an avid golfer and took great pride in his role as an Ambassador at Shamrock Golf Course. He also enjoyed watching baseball (when the Royals were winning) or an old western movie, often with his dog Missy by his side.

Although Tony could come across as very serious, those who were fortunate to know him will remember his kind heart and his mischievous smile.

Tony is survived by his wife Carol and their two children, Heather Bales of Lee's Summit, MO, and Michael Pace (Sara) of Grapevine, TX; four grandchildren, Carina Pace, Jacob Bales, Abigail Chrisman, and Ann Cashatt; three great-grandchildren; his brother Frank Pace (Kathleen); and his sister Margheurite DiGiovanni.

On Saturday, February 22, family and friends are invited to Holy Spirit Catholic Church (1800 MO-150, Lee's Summit, MO 64082) for praying of the Rosary at 9:30 a.m., a visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial services will be held immediately after Mass at Lee's Summit Historical Cemetery (806 SE 3rd St, Lee's Summit, MO 64063) with Eric Reisner, Richard Smith, Michael Blomquist, Terry Beauvais, Kyle DeFord, Ray McCollom, Dave Scheer, Jim Carter (honorary) and Charles Wright (honorary) who will serve as pallbearers.

Flowers or donations are warmly welcomed. In memory of Tony's compassionate spirit, the family has chosen First Tee , an organization dedicated to empowering kids and teens through the game of golf.
