Antonino "Tony" Scire, 73, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 900 NE Shady Lane Drive, Kansas City, MO 64118. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Antonino was born June 18, 1944, in Partanna, Sicily. He came to Kansas City in 1970, to join his family and search for a better life. He sold produce with his brother and together they opened Tony's Market in 1977 in Gladstone, MO, which later became Springtime Garden Center. He also worked as a produce vendor in the City Market for over 30 years. He enjoyed watching soccer, boxing, and spending time with his family.

Antonino was preceded in death by his parents Benedetto and Anna Scire. He is survived by his wife, Fina (Donze) Scire; his children, Benny Scire, Salvatore Scire, Anna Scire, Vita Haygood and son-in-law Glenn Haygood; grandson, Henry E. Haygood; brothers, John Scire, Vincent Scire (Maria); brother-in-law, Vincent Donze; six nieces and nephews.
