Antonio "Tony" Nastasi, 93, passed away September 8, 2018. The Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. followed by Visitation 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 14, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO. Entombment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Tony was born January 20, 1925, in Salaparuta, Sicily, to the late Giuseppe and Maria (Drago) Nastasi and immigrated to Kansas City in 1959. He labored tirelessly to provide for his family. He enjoyed working in his garden tending to his tomatoes, fig tree and cuguzza plants. He made his own homemade wine which he enjoyed with his favorite dish of spaghetti and meat balls. Tony was a member of the American Sons of Columbus for over 40 years where he enjoyed playing bocce and his favorite card game 'Briscola'. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Tony was preceded in death by his siblings, Giovanna Nastasi, Francesca Drago, Antonina Fontana, Luigia Randazzo, Giuseppe Nastasi, and Maria Randazzo.
Tony is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Giuseppa (Pirrello) Nastasi; his children, Mary Nastasi, Rosa Rocha and husband Nick, Joe Nastasi and wife Laura; grandchildren, Nicole Rocha, Anthony Nastasi, Vanessa Rocha, Louie Nastasi, Frank Nastasi, Anna Nastasi; sisters-in-law, Rosa Croce, Francesca Pirrello, Carmela Pirrello; and many nieces and nephews in Sicily (Italy), Australia and the United States.
