Ardis S. Hunt, born January 23, 1933 in Fairmont, MN, the daughter of James and Emma Sheely, passed away October 20, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital at the age of 79.
She graduated from Fairmont High School and went to business school in St. Cloud, MN. In 1950 she married Gerald Geiselhart. In 1979 she moved to Texas to work for Midwest Telephone Co. In 1980 she married Dale Hunt. In 1987 she was transferred to Kansas City to work for Sprint until she retired in 1996. She was an active member of Children's Memorial Lutheran Church where she was co-chair of the Northeast Hope feeding program, and was very active in the thrift store and parish life. An avid quilter, Ardis was a member of the Quilters Guild of Kansas City.
She is survived by her sister, Janet Sheely of Kansas City, MO; her children, Ron and Laurel Geiselhart of St. Cloud, MN, LeeVae Sluss of Independence, MO, Gene Geiselhart of Kansas City, MO, Jonathan and Laura Clark of Kansas City, MO; stepchildren, Sam Hunt and Rocky Hunt, both of Oklahoma; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
An open house celebrating Ardis' life will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, November 17, in the Fellowship Hall at Children's Memorial Lutheran Church, 5001 Independence Ave., Kansas City, MO 64124. Inurnment will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
