Armand G. Estevez, passed away peacefully on February 27 ^th , 2021. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 900 NE Shady Lane Dr., Kansas City, MO 64118.  Visitation will be held 10:00am-12:00pm. The Funeral Mass will immediately follow. The burial will follow the Mass in the First Responders Garden at Resurrection Cemetery, 5001 NE Cookingham Rd., Kansas City, MO 64156. Masks and social distancing are required for all services. Armand was born on June 4, 1932, in Kansas City, MO.  He was the seventh of nine children born to Richard (Sr.) and Margarita Estevez.  Armand was a cherished father, who along with his wife of 67 years, Helen A. Estevez, raised their daughter, Sylvia (Mark) Cassady who reside in Kansas City, MO.  He was a long-time member of St. Bernadette's Church  and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parishes. Armand served in the United States Marine Corps, 1 ^st Marine Division during the Korean War.  After his military service, he sought a career as a public servant.  He was a member of the Kansas City Fire Department for 32 years and retired in 1993 with the rank of Captain.  He was a 50 plus year member of the I.A.F.F. Union, Local 42.

Armand enjoyed jogging, swimming, and loved all kinds of music from Bagpipe to Jon Philip Sousa patriotic marches.  He was a self-taught guitarist and sang many songs with his wife and daughter. One of his most loved hobbies was training his show dogs, champion German Shepherds, Reina and Donar.  Armand loved traveling.   His last family trip was to tour the newly completed National Museum of the Marine Corps, Quantico, VA.

Armand enjoyed all kinds of sports, including boxing. He was also an excellent cook and was known as a beloved prankster who made everyone laugh and always had a few tricks that were sure to entertain.

Armand had a tremendous love for his wife, family and country.  He often stepped up to help others in need, especially during the holiday season.  His greatest pride and joy was spending time with his loved ones.

Greeting him in Heaven are his parents, Richard Sr and Margarita Estevez; his brothers, Richard (Jr), Alex, Rudy Estevez and two of his sisters, Rosa Espinosa and baby sister Martha. Armand is survived by his loving wife, Helen Estevez; his daughter, Sylvia (Mark) Cassady; his siblings: Hellen Barnes, David Estevez and Charles (Socorro) Estevez; as well as his granddaughter Natalie (Martin) Teresk and grandson Dominic Cipolla; 4 delightful great-grandchildren, Aiden, Xavier, Savina and Alina; and many nieces and nephews.

His love, smile, wit and warm embrace will be missed immeasurably by all who loved him.
