Aurelia Edwina Brown, first born and only daughter of William E. Brown and Olivia J. Brown, was born October 8, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri. She passed from this life on April 23, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents Allen Stone, Aurelia Stone, brother Cardus L. Brown, niece Mecheal (Brown) Williams.
She grew up in McAlester, Oklahoma where she attended Louverture High School that went from the 1st to the 12th grade. She made it to the 6th grade but had to quit because of a learning disability. Although not having a full, formal education, she acquired lots of common sense and mother-wit from her grandparents whom she called Grand Pa Allen and Mom-Me! Grand Pa Allen gave her the nickname "Toots", but she would not let anyone but family members or close friends call her by her nickname.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in the summer of 1975. She often spoke of living a healthy life in a paradise earth, and took her stand for the "truth".
She is survived by her brothers who she dearly loved, William Brown (Lovell) of Houston, Texas, Aaron Brown of Kansas City, John Brown (Gail) of Kansas City, Gregory Brown of Kansas City; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. with a Memorial Service at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
