With faith in God’s eternal care, we announce the passing of Benita Camarillo Gonzalez, who entered eternal rest on October 1, 2026, at University of Kansas Medical Center at the age of 91.

Born on July 17, 1935, Benita lived a long life grounded in her Catholic faith. She was known as a devoted mother and grandmother. Those who knew her also remember her kindness, compassion and sense of humor. Benita retired from Youth Craft Coats after more than 20 years of service. Alongside her years of work, she found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. She enjoyed painting, cooking, and gardening; pursuits that reflected both her creativity and the care she gave so freely.

She reunites in eternal peace with her husband Rafeal D. Gonzalez, as well as seven brothers and sisters who passed before her. Her memory will be carried forward by her son Rafeal Gonzalez; her daughter Yvonne M. Reyes; and her grandsons Brian Gonzalez, Gabriel Gonzalez, Gerardo Reyes (Samantha), and Manuel Reyes.

In this time of sorrow, there is comfort in the blessing of a life that spanned many years and touched many others through faith, family, work, and daily acts of care.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, at Mt. Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.

Benita Camarillo Gonzalez will be remembered with love and gratitude. May she rest in the peace and light of heaven.
