Betty Lou Mortallaro, 70, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014, at North Kansas City Hospital. Visitation will begin with the Rosary at 4 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, at Holy Rosary Church. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Betty was born July 11, 1944, in Kansas City, MO. She attended Glennon High School and later graduated from beauty school. She retired from Argosy Casino. Betty was a kind and gentle wife, mother, nani, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She loved to cook and bake for family and friends for any occasion. She was preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve Sgaraglino; sister and brother-in-law, Joey Lou and Sal Fasone; granddaughter, Gabrielle Marie; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Josephine Mortallaro.
Betty is survived by her husband of 49 years, Andrew Mortallaro; sons, Tom and Andy Mortallaro; daughter, Gena Marie; grandchildren, Alexandra, Louis, Sierra, Elizabeth, Gabrielle, Madison, Sophia, Andy Nick, and Olivia; great-grandson, Anthony; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Anna Maria and Bert Bohannon, Bill and Tish Mortallaro, Fran and Dave Bailey, Tom and Linda Mortallaro, Joe Mortallaro; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
