It is with great sadness that our "Aunt Bevie" – Beverly Vaccaro – passed away from a stroke at North Kansas City Hospital on October 7, 2013.

Beverly was born to a large family on March 8, 1930, and grew up in Kansas City. She married Carl Vaccaro in 1957, and they spent 21 happy years together until his death in 1978. She worked many years at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. before retiring in 1985. Following her retirement she enjoyed working part time at Jenny's Italian Restaurant as a hostess. All who knew her were drawn to her sweet and loving personality. Beverly enjoyed travelling on many cruise vacations with family and friends, and felt fortunate to live at The Gardens Apartments where she had many friends. Beverly never had children of her own, but she thought of her nieces and nephews as "her kids". We, her nieces and nephews, feel so very blessed to have had Aunt Bevie in our lives!

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, and eight sisters. Those left to mourn her passing are her brother and sisters-in-law, James and Ethel West, Lena Mascaro; nephews and nieces, Frank and Susan Mascaro, Johniann and Jim Vitatoe, Marc and Vickie Ardagna, Kevin and Joe Welsh, Jack, Johnette, Stevette, Nannette, and Toni Cerny, James, Toni, Kenneth, and Beverly West, Cheri Hunter; four special great-nephews who were like grandchildren, Carl and Rudy Mascaro, Vincent and Johnny Vitatoe; and close friends, Shirley Irwin and Larry Medina.

Dear sweet Aunt Bevie, you meant so much to all of us and we will miss you deeply.

Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, October 10, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 5106 St. John Ave., Kansas City, MO 64123, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery.
