William Joseph "Billy" Wallace, 69, passed away peacefully at home on February 20, 2025.

Billy was born to Charles and Juanita Wallace on July 16, 1955, in Fort Scott, Kansas. He moved to Kansas City in the early 1960's. As a young boy, Billy developed an interest in cars and trucks, and at the age of 9, began working part time at Falco's Car Service shop. He had a special knack for mechanics, and through his tireless work and resilience, made himself an integral part of the business. He dedicated nearly 60 years of his life to the trade and was an invaluable friend and colleague to the Falco and Ross families throughout those years.

Billy was a reliable man of habit. Every morning for the last 26 years, he could be found opening the shop at Custom Truck before the rest of the world was awake. Although it's difficult to imagine Billy not working, he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling, especially his trips to Florida.

If you have one person in your life you can truly count on, you are blessed. To those who knew him well, Billy was that person. The details did not matter. If you called him needing help, his only answer was "On my way". As a true jack of all trades, Billy could deliver any request, from towing a truck out of a cornfield, to single handedly moving apartment furniture, finding rare car parts, cutting deals with flower shops or picking you up from the airport. He was driven by his desire to serve others and his "get the job done" attitude. Billy was cherished for his selflessness, reliability, and tireless work ethic. He always focused on looking out for his family and on how others were doing, rather than on himself. He met each of his challenges with optimism, dignity and unflinching courage. Billy's strong Catholic faith drove his charitable spirit and gave him courage and peace in his final days.

Billy is survived by his children, William Jr. "Joe" (Joyce) and Karen, cherished grandchildren, Joseph (Hanna), William III (BJ), Marrisa (Devin), Noah (Kirsten), Lucas, and Ava, great-grandchildren Coraline, Ella, Oliver, Grayson, and Emmett, and seven siblings, James (Shirley), Dave, Ginger, Becky (Kenny), Vivian (Kay), Patty, and Charlie, along with his numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Juanita Wallace, and sister Charlene.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Passantino Bros Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 26, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bishop Sullivan Center .
