Carl Armato, 88, passed away December 9, 2021. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 13, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.
Carl was born on July 13, 1933, to Dominick Armato and Lena (Plas) Armato. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1951 as part of the Korean Conflict and honorably discharged in 1953. On December 4, 1952, he married Rosaria "Sarah" Battaglia and from that union they had four sons. After his military service, Carl joined the Painters Union from his previous experience of working with his Uncle Joe Monte. In 1959, he co-founded Northeast Painting Company until 1974. In 1975, he went to work for Kansas City Power Light Company as their shop painter until he retired in 1996.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents Dominick and Lena; brother Frank; daughter-in-law Mona Armato; and great-grandson Leo Woodruff. Carl is survived by his wife of 69 years Sarah; sons and daughter-in-law Dominick and Shelley, Frank, Joseph, and Carl. He also leaves the following Grandchildren: Sarah Frances, Julianna (Dan), Patrick (Carley), Tatum (Jeff), Otto (Amy), Jessica, William (Olivia), and Anthony Carmine; and great-grandchildren: Jiovanna, Kiera, Elayna, Anna, Van, Layla, Elam, Cal, Ava and Henry. He also leaves sister-in-law Rosa Liberto; sister-in-law Virginia Sue Armato; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joseph and Mary Cangelosi; along with sister-in-law Carmelina Franco; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would also like to thank the staffs of Interim Health Care, Harbor Hospices, and Dr. Steven Michael Cicero for their excellent care during Carl's journey to his eternal heavenly home.
