Carl Anthony Badami passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020.

Masks and social distancing will be strictly enforced at the services. The Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. followed by Visitation at 10:30 a.m., Eulogy at 12:15 p.m., and the Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 11, at St. James Catholic Church, Liberty, MO. (Mass will be streamed on the ' St James Liberty MO ' Facebook page). Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Carl was born on June 28, 1966 to Ciro (Corky) and Charlene Badami.  Carl grew up in Northeast Kansas City, Mo.  He attended St. John the Baptist Grade School and St. Pius X High School.  He attended the University of Kansas, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, and worked as an engineer/specialist for Motion Industries.  In college, he was a champion athlete.  He was a weight-lifting contender in the 1991 US Olympic Festival in Colorado, where, in addition to competing, he served as an instructor and trainer at the famed Olympic Center in Colorado Springs.

Carl was co-founder and vice president of the UNICO Youth Chapter of Kansas City, where he proudly helped organize the UNICO Italian Festival-Kansas City.  He was a member of the American Sons of Columbus.  Carl enjoyed playing Bocce with his friends who called themselves The High Rollers, where every memory brings a laugh.  He always enjoyed and looked forward to vacations and lake time with family and friends. He was loved by so many for his kindness and generosity, always making himself available to help others with anything; he was everyone's 'go-to guy'.

At an early age he discovered a passion for racing with his grandfather and father.  In turn, he passed that passion on to his son, racing dirt bikes. Together they shared a lifetime of special moments that will never be forgotten.

Carl met his true love, his wife Florene, when he impressed her with his self-taught piano skills, playing Beethoven to get her attention.  However, it was his kindness, intelligence, and humor that won her heart.  For the 25 years of their marriage, he was a loving, dedicated husband and father who loved Flo and their children unconditionally.

Carl was a devoted father to his children, Charlene and Ciro, whom he adored and cherished more than life itself.   From the moment she was born, Charlene and her father shared a special, unbreakable bond.  He sparked her passion for KU, as they loved to watch KU games together. He knew everything and she could go to him for advice on literally anything. She was his "Sweetie". Ciro was his "Pal". In addition to racing together, Carl taught him many practical things, as well as life lessons, and expert advice.  He was involved in every aspect of their lives, making special memories, and was so proud of all their accomplishments.

Carl was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Margaret Badami, and Charles and Jenny Hooper; his aunts Rosalie Badami and Donna Kaiser; and his father-in-law Tom Curiale.

He is survived by his wife Florene Badami, and his loving children Charlene and Ciro Badami; his parents Ciro "Corky" and Charlene Badami; his mother-in-law Joann Curiale; his brothers, Chris Badami (Linda), Mike Badami (Renee); his sister Angel Yanez (Sabin); his sisters-in-law Diana Maggio (Vince), and Jackie Mormino (Sal); his aunt Carol Leocardi (Frank); his uncle Charles Hooper (Sandy); and his many nieces and nephews Anthony, Steven, and Michael Badami, Christopher Rosenthal, Nate and Anna Yanez, Adrianne Padilla (Trevor), and Alexis Rivera (Nathan), Michael and Selena Badami, Tony, Tommy, and Sammy Maggio, Josie, Rosie, Sammy, and Lilly Mormino.

Pallbearers will be Carl's nephews, Anthony, Steven, and Michael Badami; Christopher Rosenthal; Nate Yanez; Michael Badami; Tony, Tommy, and Sammy Maggio; and Sammy Mormino.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Balano, Frank Brancato, Joe Galate, Mickey Witherow, Vince Maggio, Joe Glorioso, Sal Mormino, Dominick Brogoto, Frank Leocardi, Carl Leocardi, Sam Lasala, Chip Budde, and Sabin Yanez.

Carl, Dad, our hearts are forever broken.  We miss you terribly.  We love you deeply.  We wish you peace.  We will go on, knowing that you will always watch over us and be with us in spirit. We are all so fortunate and blessed that our lives included you. The times we have shared will be cherished forever.
