Obituary

Carl J. LaSala of Raymore, MO, passed away March 29, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. He passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Services will be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lee's Summit, MO. On Wednesday April 3, the Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. followed by Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, April 4, at 10:00 a.m. at the church, with burial services following at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.

Carl was born January 2, 1948, in Kansas City, MO to Joseph J. and Josephine M. (nee Caponetto) LaSala.  He graduated from Raytown South High School in 1966.  He met the love of his life, Earline Bass, at the Justrite Grocery store in Raytown while working as a sacker.   Carl married Earline on December 16, 1967, and shortly after entered the U.S. Army.  Carl proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran and was a member of VFW Post 15026.   He went to work at the Frisco Railway in 1971 and retired from the BNSF Railway after 38 years. He loved enjoying life with his kids, grandkids and friends.   Carl loved taking cruises, visiting casinos and beaches with family and friends.

Carl is survived by his wife Earline (nee Bass) LaSala; two sons Sean LaSala (Melinda), Eric LaSala (Angie); three grandchildren Jack LaSala, Sophia LaSala and Noah LaSala, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bob Cramer, James Bass (Linda), Marianne Jesse; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Donna Pinnow.

Pallbearers: Sean LaSala, Eric LaSala, Jack LaSala, Noah LaSala, James Bass, Robert Cramer, Randy Kastelitz, and Matthew Hooper.
