Carmaline Marie (Blando) Guerra, 88, passed away June 2, 2020. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 8, at Queen of the Holy Rosary, 7023 W 71st St, Overland Park, KS 66204. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Carmaline was born April 19, 1932, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Phillip and Katherine (Spinello) Blando. She was a very devoted Catholic who helped raise all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved reading to and playing games, arts, and crafts with the children at the St. Pius X Pre-School Day Care. She also enjoyed visiting the casinos and was a huge Royals and Chiefs fan.
Carmaline was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Manuel Guerra, in 2008; her brothers, Phillip and Carl Blando; and her sister, Josephine Boniello. She is survived by her children, Christina Thompson (Robert), Phillip Guerra (Allison Hedgpeth), and Richard Guerra; her grandchildren, Kathy Finestead (Clark), Brian Thompson (Kacie), Kari Clemens (Nick), Dylan Hedgpeth-Guerra, Mia Hedgpeth-Guerra, Gabrielle Norton-Guerra, Nick Norton-Guerra, and Lucas Norton-Guerra; her great-grandchildren, Marcus, Jessica, Jason, Hailee, Nicole, Kadence, Kayla, Rosie, and John; sister-in-law, Diane Blando; and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
