Carol (Duardi) DeFeo, 94, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Saturday, December 7, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery. Please omit flowers.

Carol was born in Kansas City, MO, on April 6, 1919, to James and Justina (Lococo) Duardi. She was a devoted and loving wife. She and her husband, Joe DeFeo, owned and operated Nigro Drug Store in the North End for many years until his untimely death in 1970. Carol was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who found true joy in being surrounded by her family. She loved spending time taking care of and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister and brother-in-law, Margarite and Art Jacobson; and brother, James Duardi. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Ann DeFeo, Rosemary and Bob Todd; grandchildren, Bobby and Jessica Todd, Gina and Stephen Pasalich, Michael Todd, Sara and Nick Hale; great-grandchildren, Blake and Caroline Pasalich, RJ Todd III, Huxley and Everett Hale; sister-in-law, Leslie Duardi; and favorite niece, Jaimie Duardi Kaczmarek.

Pallbearers: Dr. Louis John Badeen, Dr. Michael Badeen, Tony DeMaria, Joseph Latorre, Johnny Manichia, Phillip Serrone, and Vito Spino.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rachel and the staffs of Garden Valley Manor and Hospice Advantage for their excellent care and to Marie Cascio for being such a devoted friend to Mom.
