Obituary

Carol Ann Leocardi passed away July 31, 2025, at her home in Gladstone, Missouri, at the age of 77.

Carol was born and raised in the Northeast area of Kansas City and graduated from Northeast High School. She began her lifelong career as a beautician at a young age, working with her mother, Margaret Badami, at The Flair beauty salon and married her husband of 56 years, Frank Leocardi Jr. Carol took a short break from the salon to raise her three children, Frank, Carl, and Margaret "Sissy", but did operate a small beauty shop in her home. She returned to full salons and eventually owned Roseann's Beauty Shop on St. John Avenue and Salon La Bella in the northland. Carol retired as a beautician after many years at the salon at Wexford Senior Living Community.

Carol had a special bond with all of her friends, some of them a sisterhood, including her sister-in-law, Charleen Badami. Her morning phone calls and coffee with them started each day. She had an extraordinary talent for listening, giving advice and just sharing the daily ups and downs of life. She effortlessly stayed present and involved in each of their lives.

Carol's ultimate priority in her life was her family. She treasured her relationship with her parents and loved to tell funny stories about her mother. She had immense love for family gatherings and insisted that Sundays were set aside for family dinners. Her love for gatherings started at young age. Her childhood home on Wabash was always joyous and full of laughter, mainly due to all the pool parties that many family and friends reminisce about to this day. The love for these gatherings continued when she and her husband Frank bought a house at the Lake of the Ozarks. Every weekend she and Frank would have a full house of family and friends again creating more memories filled with fun in the sun, laughter and love, and plenty of Frank's barbecue.

Her passion for hosting holidays was unmatched, from delicious Thanksgiving dinners to enormous Christmas celebrations, Carol always created an atmosphere of warmth and love. She took great delight in bringing family and friends together, ensuring that everyone felt welcomed and loved.

Carol's life gave her many titles – devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, faithful friend, and favorite aunt – and she epitomized each one. Her life also taught her children many things. The two most important are: a mother's love is endless, and family is the most important thing in life.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Margaret Badami; sister Rosalie Badami, brother Ciro "Corky" Badami, and nephew Carl Badami. She is survived by her husband Frank Leocardi Jr.; son and daughter-in-law Frank and Jennifer Leocardi; son Carl Leocardi; daughter and son-in-law Margaret "Sissy" and John Reyes; grandchildren Lauren Leocardi, Frankie Leocardi, Payton Maggart, Giavincia "Vinci" Reyes, Carl Anthony Reyes; sister-in-law Charlene Badami; and close family friend Charles "Bear" Silvertooth.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, at St. James Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m.
