Charles C. "Chuck" Romano, 77, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026.

Chuck was born on New Year's Eve in 1948 to Andrew and Frances Romano. He was raised on Harrison Street in Kansas City's North End and graduated from Northeast High School. Fifty-two years ago, he married the love of his life, Angela (Accurso) Romano, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, and unwavering devotion. Chuck's proudest moments were the births of their daughter Francie and their son Andrew.

Following in his father's footsteps, Chuck became a barber, where he was known not only for his skill but for the conversations and friendships he shared with everyone who sat in his chair. Throughout his life, he also owned and operated several successful businesses, including Texas Tom's, Angie's Drive-In, and later his own food distribution company.

Chuck was rarely seen without his beloved Angela. For more than five decades, they attended weddings, birthdays, funerals, holidays, and family gatherings side by side, a true example of enduring love and partnership.

Chuck had a lifelong passion for horses and created his own "city farm", where he lovingly taught his granddaughters how to ride. He also treasured his weekly lunch gatherings with his childhood friends. Chuck was a proud member of UNICO and The American Sons of Columbus.

One of Chuck's favorite places to spend his time was at his son's business, Cumpy's Sports & Apparel. He took great pride in watching Andrew's success and enjoyed visiting with the many friends and family members who stopped by.

Above all else, Chuck was a true people person and a devoted family man. He was a faithful and loving husband, a supportive and nurturing father, an adoring grandfather, and a loyal friend who was always there for anyone in need. His warm smile, kind words, witty sense of humor, and genuine interest in others brightened every room he entered. He led by example and leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering commitment to family.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Frances Romano; his father-in-law Joseph C. Accurso; his brothers-in-law George Termini and John Dold; and his great-nephew Andrew Ross Termini.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Angela Romano; his children Francie Bonadonna (Jimmy Joe), and Andrew Romano (Jeanine); and his eight adoring grandchildren: JoAnna, Alayna, and Angela Abbott, Angela, Antonia, Alyssa, and Charli Romano, and Isabella Bonadonna. He is also survived by his sisters Marilyn Termini and Andrea Greene (Jim); his mother-in-law Augustine Accurso; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joe Accurso (Maria), Anthony Accurso, Mary Dold, Mike Accurso (Rachelle), and Rosella Favoroso (Frank); along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at St. Luke's Hospital and NorthCare Hospice House for the exceptional care, kindness, and love they provided Chuck during is final three weeks.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 8, at 10:00 a.m. at the church, with burial immediately following at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Please omit flowers.
