Obituary

Clarine L. "Chub" Spallo, a life-long Kansas City, Missouri resident, was born on December 29, 1926 and passed peacefully on September 23, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband August V. Spallo, son-in-law Terry G. Pippin, father and mother Chris and Mary DeLuca, sisters Grace Calcara and Carol LaBruzzo, brother James DeLuca, father-in-law and mother-in-law Joseph and Susan Spallo, and brother-in-law Joseph P. Spallo.

Clarine graduated from Glennon High School. Her career as an executive assistant, working at Spallo & Spallo Law Firm and Universal Underwriters, spanned more than 40 years. She left her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren some invaluable gifts -- an ability to focus on what needed to be done and a willingness to roll up her sleeves and get it done, an indomitable will, a ready smile and infectious laugh. She expected us to be good. She wanted us to be happy.

Clarine is survived by her children and their spouses, Joseph C. Spallo and Mary R. Spallo, August V. Spallo Jr. and Suzanne E. Weber, and Susan M. Pippin; six grandchildren, Michael V. Spallo and Sarah M. Salmon, Stephen R. Spallo and Christina F. Spallo, Andrew J. Spallo and Kalynn M. Spallo, Terry G. Pippin Jr. and Kaylina A. Pippin, Rachel M. Roberts and Matthew B. Roberts, Joseph C. Spallo, Jr. and Kati A. Spallo; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew J. Spallo Jr., Arlo V. Spallo, Giuliana M. Roberts, and Anthony J. Roberts.

She was a member of St. Therese Parish Church. Her family is indebted to the professional, personal, and tender care provided her by the staff at St. Luke's Hospice House. These angels will be in our daily prayers.

A private service was held for the immediate family. For those who would like to do so, a donation may be made to St. Luke's Hospice House, 3516 Summit Street, KCMO, 64111.
