Congetta Parrino, 94, died March 8, 2016, at St. Joseph Medical Center, with her family by her side.
Congetta was born on June 15, 1921, to Leonard and Josephine Como. She was a devoted and loving wife and a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Phillip A. Parrino; her parents; and two brothers, Vincent and Joseph Como. She leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, JoMarie and Ron Detwiler; a son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Barbara Parrino; grandchildren, Christina Detwiler, Terri Cary (Michael), Chris Parrino (Burgundy Gilliland), and Jeff Parrino (Amanda); great-grandchildren Josh Detwiler (Jenna), Michael Cary, Ellaina Parrino, Nicholas Parrino, Christyle Parrino and Sterling Parrino; and one great-great-grandchild, Madison Detwiler. She also leaves behind her loving sister, Virginia Becchina; and sister-in-law, Antoinette Como.
Affectionately known as Dudie to so many, she never met a person she didn't like. Everyone was greeted with a kiss and a hug and her patented "I love you more". She befriended everyone and delighted in making those around her feel special. Her devotion to her husband was remarkable, especially in his later years and her unconditional love to her family was her trademark. She set an example for everyone not by what she said but by how she treated people her entire life. She will be missed by all.
The family would like to especially thank the staff and Sisters at Little Sisters of the Poor. You made our Mom and Grandmother feel special and treated her with love and dignity during her time there. You are a special bunch of people and we are forever grateful.
