Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Connie Marie Costanzo share with you the passing of our beloved family matriarch. Connie passed away peacefully at home with family surrounding her bedside December 16 th , 2022, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Connie Marie was born on August 28 th , 1942, to Rosario "Sodie" Sola and Jennie L. (Belgiere) Sola. She was a graduate of Glennon High School class of 1960. During her high school years she became a charter member of the Charlie Cookie Club. The background and orientation of this club has been held secret by an exclusive membership over many decades and still boasts several surviving members today.

Connie met and fell into love with John Costanzo, son of Peter Costanzo Sr. and Margaret Costanzo, and they were married in 1962. Truly a lifelong love that lasted through richer or poorer, better or worse, sickness and health, for 60 years! However, Connie's greatest love was raising her three children and being a Nannie to nine grandchildren and one great grandchild! Connie loved to cook and bake with her kids and grandkids. She was always so excited and proud to cheer them all on, attending every extracurricular and scholastic event she could! Noted by those close to her as an amateur family photographer and critic, "it come good!" has become a favorite quote for her family!

She is survived by her loving husband John Costanzo; her three children Mary Margaret Costanzo-Schwaller (Bert), Peter Don Costanzo (Tracey) and Ross John Costanzo (Amy); her nine grandchildren Kate Schwaller, Robert Schwaller, Sam Schwaller, Nate Schwaller, Nicholas Costanzo, Jake Costanzo, Joseph Costanzo, Gus Costanzo, Lucia Costanzo; her great-granddaughter Margaux Schwaller; her sister, Anna Jo Pfannenstiel (Leon); sisters-in-law Gloria Costanzo and Carol Costanzo; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to especially thank the entire staff at Novus Home Healthcare and Hospice. The sense of peace, compassion, and relief you brought us can never be repaid.
