Constance R. "Connie" Distefano-Northrup, 74, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 at NorthCare Hospice House from complications of Alzheimer's. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106. Cremation will follow the services. Inurnment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum at a later date. Please omit flowers.
Connie was born January 5, 1937 in Hartford, CT to Salvatore and Mary Lastrina. She married Salvatore J. Distefano in 1958 and moved to Kansas City where they had three daughters. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Connie was preceded in death by her first husband, Salvatore Distefano, in 2007; and her second husband, Jack Northrup, in 2011.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Annamarie Cicero, Sally and Tom Malaponte, Lois and Carl Occhipinto; grandchildren, Sal Cicero, Nick Cicero, Marguerite Malaponte, Michael Cicero, Chuckie Malaponte, Joe Carl Occhipinto, Tony Mike Occhipinto, Carl Occhipinto Jr.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Barbara Lastrina, Louis Lastrina, Frank and Vickie Lastrina; sisters and brother-in-law, Angie Dipetro, Louise and George Archambalt, Marie Carson, and Sally Lastrina; and step-children, Dan Allen Northrup, and Mary Gillispie.
Pallbearers will be Connie's grandsons.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of the Angels of Mercy Caregivers, and the doctors, nurses and staff of NorthCare Hospice for the care given to Connie.
