Daisy M. (Cariddi) Fontana passed away peacefully on November 1, 2017, at the age of 93.

Daisy was born on October 5, 1924, to Anthony and Maria Cariddi, and lived all of her life in Kansas City, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Frank Fontana; sisters, Annie, Lena, Clara, Jennie, and Lucy; and brothers, Jimmy, Norman, Larry, and Sam.

Daisy is survived by her sister-in-law, Lena Locatelli; her children, Toni DeSimone (Jay), Frank F. Fontana, Jr., Phyllis Alexander (Ken), and Debbie Lewis. Her spirit lives on in the hearts and minds of her loving grandchildren, Joe DeSimone (Terri), Mieke Przybylski (David), Britni Jarvis (Sean), Natalie Ebel (Caleb), Darin Wisner (Greg), and Blair Lewis; her great-grandchildren, Samantha Belvin, Tyler Belvin, Sophia DeSimone, Jillian Belvin, Anna Przybylski, Michael Przybylski, Ella Jarvis, Mia Jarvis, Olivia Jarvis, Colette Ebel; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Our mom lived a full and happy life.  She was employed for many years by the Kansas City School District.  She cooked and served the children of Garfield and Woodland Schools with much joy until retirement.

Daisy enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Her greatest joy was having her family gather for Sunday dinner. She was blessed with an abundance of life-long friends. Some of her fondest memories were her times spent playing cards or playing a game of bocci at the American Sons of Columbus. Another favorite of Daisy's was her weekly hair-do visits to Pearl's Beauty Salon. Many thanks to Dee and niece Marie for doing Mom's hair.

The Rosary will be prayed at 2 p.m. followed by Visitation from 2:30 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 6, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Kansas City Hospice, 1500 Meadow Lake Parkway, Suite 200, Kansas City, MO 64114; or Holy Rosary Parish.

Pallbearers: Joe DeSimone, David Przybylski, Sean Jarvis, Caleb Ebel, Greg Wisner, and Pete Mesh.
