Damiana was born December 18, 1939, in Bitonto Bari, Italy, to Frank and Pasqua (Cervelli) Sarro. She was the oldest of eight children. She came to America with her sister Anna to help her father provide their family a better life. Here in America she met her loving husband, Stefano Ferro, and settled in Kansas City, MO where they raised their five children and helped raise their 12 grandchildren. Damiana, her sisters, and in-laws continued the tradition of helping with the St. Joseph's Table as her mother did by making cookies and donating her time to the church. Damiana and Stefano were a part of the Camporeale Society. She also loved to go to the casino, travel and experience new adventures with her family and friends.

Damiana was preceded in death by her loving husband Stefano Ferro; her parents Frank and Pasqua Sarro; her in-laws Stefano and Maria Ferro; her son Frank Ferro; her son in-law Joseph Ferro; her granddaughter Gianna Rosa Mygatt; her brothers Vincent, Vincent, and Phillip Sarro; and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.
