David Wayne Blackman, 70, of Lathrop, MO, passed away February 6, 2024, as the result of a four-wheeler accident.

David was born May 10, 1953, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Russell and Frances Blackman. He was a proud blood donor for many years and had donated over eight gallons of blood to the Community Blood Center. He was also an organ donor and was able to pass on the gift of life to several others.

Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by his stepbrother Randy Thomas. He is survived by his longtime companion Patricia, of the home; his sons David Blackman (Sheena) of Kearney, MO, and Carl Blackman (Nicole) of Trimble, MO; his grandchildren Haylie, Hanna, Isabella, and Barrett; his brothers Russell Blackman Jr. (Barbara) and Kent Blackman (Debbie); several nieces and nephews; and his stepmother Anna Blackman.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family suggests contributions in his name to Children's Mercy Hospital; the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; or the Community Blood Center.
