Diana Marie
Palma
Mar 12, 1940 — Jun 14, 2020
Diana M. Palma passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 14th, 2020 at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her husband Rudy, her father James, mother Yvonne, brother Jimmy, and sister Gerrie. Diana is survived by her brother Stan; her two sons Steve (Danita) and Mike; her grandchildren Pierce, Brayton, and Brent; her aunt Varonne; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Diana enjoyed her time being involved in the St. Patrick community. Through the years, she was involved in the Altar and Rosary Society, planned post funeral meals for families and served as the school secretary at St. Patrick School for several years. She cherished the many lifelong friendships she had made along the way. She was grateful to spend time going to breakfast (Browne's Irish Deli being one of her favorites) with friends and had a passion for celebrating the Irish traditions.
She enjoyed traveling throughout her life. She enjoyed camping in the mountains of Colorado and loved the opportunity she had to travel to both Ireland and England. Diana loved the family trips she took with her sister, and in-laws Frank and Saundra, and Sal. These trips to Florida, California and the Pacific Northwest provided endless stories and great memories that are still talked about at family gatherings.
The Lake of the Ozarks held a special place in her heart. She had many trips with her husband and family, mother, and friends. Later in life, she looked forward to annual lake trips with her sons. These moments were some of the most special times of all—to both her, and her boys.
Diana shared lots of laughter and love over the years with her sister Gerrie and her brother Stan that resulted in a special bond. Diana and Gerrie talked nearly every day until her sister passed.
Diana devoted her life to raising her two sons. The gift of such selflessness that they will never forget. We love you mom.
She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. There will be a private service with family and close friends on Thursday, June 18th, 2020 at St. Patrick's Church. Burial service to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Patrick School, 1401 NE 42nd Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64116.
