Obituary

On the morning of Friday, September 1st, 2023, Diane Marie Brown passed away at the age of 73. She was born to Carl and Marie (Mannino) Occhipinto, in Kansas City, MO. Diane graduated from Northeast High School and eventually met the love of her life Joe Brown, and they married in 1978. Together they raised two daughters, Stacey and Brenda. Diane worked for many years at Children's Choice daycare with her beloved cousin Vonnie Occhipinto, with whom she shared a very special relationship. In her free time Diane enjoyed playing card games, bingo, and crocheting.

Throughout her life Diane touched many people with her love and compassion. She always had a smile on her face and never knew a stranger. Diane especially loved her family and her many friends. She never forgot to give a call and check in on everyone when it came to any sort of special occasion or if they were feeling sick. Diane also showed her love with her talent of crocheting. She made blankets for every one of her nephews and nieces. Diane also loved to dance. If you were at a wedding and needed a dance partner, Diane would dance with you until the DJ stopped playing the songs. Loved and missed beyond words, Diane will live on in our hearts and those touched by her kindness.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband Joe Brown; parents Carl and Marie Occhipinto; father and mother-in-law Walt and Stella Brown; brother Vince J. Occhipinto; and brothers-in-law Tuck McArthur, Joseph Beck, and Dan Bowen. She is survived by her daughters Stacey Brown and Brenda Blair (David); grandson Larry Blair; brother Anthony Occhipinto (Connie); sisters Janice McArthur, Rose Biondo (Filippo), Cathy Weber, and Theresa Klenklen (Brad); many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews; uncle Frank and aunt Pat Occhipinto; many beloved cousins; and friends she made over the years.

Pallbearers: Larry Blair, Tom McArthur, Taylor Bowen, Cary Occhipinto, Vince Mussurici, and Angela Parks.
