Diane Frances (Pisciotta) Hansen, 73, passed away on March 23, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kansas City. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Diane was born on August 24,1950, in Kansas City, MO to Angeline Genova and Vincent Pisciotta.  She graduated from Cardinal Glennon High School in 1968, where she made a lot of friends, many of which she kept in touch with throughout her life. One special friend became a permanent member of the family when Diane played matchmaker at her own wedding!   Diane loved to tell the story "wait until you meet my cousin!" and their marriage thrives to this day!

Diane enjoyed gardening, cooking, raising her three girls, and being a Nani.  She loved her four grandchildren unconditionally, they were her "life" as she liked to say.  Leaving them was one of the hardest parts of dealing with terminal cancer for her.  She never reached the acceptance phase of having to leave her children and her grandchildren behind.  She was very proud of her Italian heritage and took great pride in making meatballs on Sundays and making cookies for Christmas and Easter. Diane enjoyed a thirty-year career with the Social Security Administration.  She made many friends there as well, making sure to keep those friendships alive after her retirement in 2007. Diane leaves behind many treasured family members and friends, even if she didn't always have the strength to reach out.  The last year was so difficult that it was hard for her to even take a short telephone call.  She fought courageously after receiving a diagnosis in August of 2022, powering through painful treatments until she could no longer do so.

She loved to entertain and was a natural when it came to jokes!  Even as she struggled through cancer, she continued to be the life of the party.  She just brought joy with her wherever she went.  Diane had a love of fashion and decorating.  She could spend hours shopping for clothes, and this worked out very well for her daughters, who learned from the best.  She also loved decorating.  Every house she ever lived in she always left it in better condition than she found it, and usually with upgraded light fixtures in every room.

Diane is survived by her three daughters, Francine Torlina (Tim); Denise Hansen, with whom she lived, and Nicole Bowen (Jake); four grandchildren, Evan Rudolph, Carson Rudolph, Kyle Nagy and Sophie Bowen.  She also leaves her beloved dog Daisy.

Pallbearers are her grandsons Evan Rudolph and Kyle Nagy.

Honorary Pallbearers are Pete Genova, Phil Giordano, Johnny Joe Pisciotta, Louie Pisciotta, Pete Simone, and Joey Spinello.
