Dominic D. Bonavia, 81, northeast Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014, at NorthCare Hospice House. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Dominic was born January 15, 1933, in Kansas City, MO, to Peter and Catherine (Colletta) Bonavia. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and retired from General Motors after 32 years of dedicated service. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Anthony Bonavia.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Angelina (DiMartino) Bonavia; his seven children and their spouses, Dominic and Susan Bonavia, Paul Bonavia, Carl Bonavia, Catherine and Timothy Moon, Vita and Larry McMillen, Joe Bonavia, Peter Bonavia; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Irwin; and numerous other relatives and friends.
