Dominick Vincent Brocato, 64, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, at Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, January 8, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055, where a cremation Memorial Mass will begin at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the University of Kansas Cancer Center - Sarcoma Endowment; or the Leukemia Society of Kansas City.
Dominick graduated from De La Salle High School and then earned a business degree from UMKC. He served as a reservist in the U.S. Air Force for six years, and he was also an active board member of the EPN for over 25 years.
Dominick was born in Kansas City on September 30, 1951, with a strong work ethic and servant's heart. He devoted his career to human resources and was always eager to champion and motivate the underdog. Modest with his own accomplishments, he always strived to make a difference in other's lives.
Dominick was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Antoinette Brocato; grandparents, John and Mary Pace, Dominic and Phyllis Brogoto; his In-laws Joe and Lena DeMarco; and sister-in-law Jeannie Brocato.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 40 years, Rose Ann (DeMarco); sons, Justin Brocato (Angela), Ryan Brocato (Bridget), and Joel Brocato; and grandchildren, Marcello, Fallon, Larsen and Lina; brothers, Joe Brocato (Lana), and John Brocato; sister, Mary Ann Bowman; brothers-in-law, Sam DeMarco (Jane), and Tony DeMarco (Jennifer); and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Dominick was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Most of all he adored being a "PaPa". He will be remembered for his warm hospitality and sense of style.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Lee's Summit Medical Center and the University of Kansas Cancer Center. Additional thanks to family and friends for their generosity and loving support.
