Dominick "Scoots"
Scudiero
May 25, 1927 — Jan 9, 2024
Dominick "Scoots" Scudiero, 96, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 9, 2024.
Dominick was born May 25, 1927, in Kansas City to Alfred and Rose Scudiero. Dominick was known to most as "Scoots" and would always tell the story of how that name came to be. He was playing baseball as a kid and when he was rounding first base, he slipped and scooted into second, creating his well-known nickname.
Scoots worked in the hospitality business for over 60 years. He owned and operated the Inferno Show Lounge, which was once one of the hottest places in Kansas City. He later moved north of the river where he opened the Skyview Lounge. He truly was one of a kind to every heart he touched.
In his later years he loved watching the KC Royals and KC Chiefs on tv, he even attended the first Super Bowl in Los Angeles - Packers vs Chiefs in 1967. He also enjoyed backyard BBQs with his family, catching the occasional poker game with his buddies, and enjoying lunch with the guys. He never knew a stranger and had the most infectious laugh. He loved his family more than life itself and will forever be missed by so many.
Scoots was preceded in death by his dad and mom; his wife Lola Scudiero ; his grandson Maxwell Kolich; and his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children Tony (Sandy) Scudiero, Michelle (Dr. Dean) Kolich, and Dominick Scudiero Jr.; grandchildren Lola (Adam) Long, Michael (Chelsea) Scudiero, Jennifer (Jeff) Roberts, Dominick Scudiero, Marcus Scudiero, and Madelyn Scudiero; great-grandchildren Logan Kolich, Ella Claire and Liam Scudiero, Alyssa and Patton Roberts; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
