Donald E. Ashley, 82, Columbus Park area of Kansas City, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, followed by Graveside Services at 11:45 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City North. Donald was born November 21, 1930 in Kansas City, KS. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after 42 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and spent numerous years volunteering for the "Save A Connie" organization and the Airline History Museum. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rowena (Tuttle) Ashley; his wife, Elizabeth (Totta) Ashley, in 2000; and brothers, James Ashley Jr., Roland V. Ashley and Gaylen Ashley.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda Ashley, Mark and Mary Ashley; grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Donald, John and Lauren; great-granddaughter, Liana; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Bernadine Ashley, Frances and Carl Lamanno, Leona Totta; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
