Doris Louise Serrone, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 28, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 416 W. 12 ^th St., Kansas City, MO 64105. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.

Doris was a compassionate and caring mother, grandmother and friend, who possessed a huge heart and a wonderful sense of humor. She held a deep love of music and enjoyed dancing. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Phillip Schnitz; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Nancy Serrone; granddaughter, Maria Cook and husband Sheldon; grandson, Phillip T. Schnitz; great-granddaughter, Gianna Cook; goddaughter, Joan Gilchrist; dear family friend, Moe Lago; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family offers special thanks to the staffs of New Mark Care Center and Crossroads Hospice, for the care given to Doris.
