Dorothy (Bonanno) Crouch, 89, Northeast Kansas City, MO, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012 at North Kansas City Hospital. Her wish was to be cremated. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Passantino Bros. Dorothy was born February 22, 1923 in Kansas City, MO to Salvatore and Lena (Lucito) Bonanno. She owned the restaurant at St. Mary's Hospital for several years, and later greeted customers at her restaurant, Nonni's Kitchen, and was a demo worker at Sam's Club. She also taught ceramics for many years. Her joy in life was to watch her grandchildren grow up.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Crouch; brother, Joseph Bonanno; sisters, Frances Sciortino, Dorothy Valenti, Jennie Barelli; and infant brother, Salvatore Bonanno.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Rosemary Crouch; daughter, Diane "De-De" Crouch; grandchildren, Michael and Amy Crouch, Nicolle and Anthony Avila, Salvatore Joseph (Bonanno) Crouch; great-grandchildren, Dominick Crouch and Adriana Avila; her beloved nephew and nieces, Johnny Joe Sciortino, Ginger Lascuola, Carol Rea Morris, Carolyn Mason; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family offers a special thank you to Dr. Joseph Palazola and the 9th Floor ICU staff at North Kansas City Hospital for the care given to Dorothy.
