Edith Gaye House, 55, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully at her home on August 23, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She bravely battled cancer for nearly three years and fought gracefully and courageously up until the end.

Gaye was born on April 21, 1959, to John and Rose Hansen in Kansas City, MO. She attended Northeast High School and Dickenson Business College. She worked hard her whole life, most recently at the law offices of Bortnick, McKeon, Sakoulas, & Schanker; Mary Ann Drape; and Quinn. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her grandbabies were the absolute loves of her life. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards with friends, gardening, and music. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed.

Gaye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ronnie House; and brothers John, Jimmy, and Kenny Hansen. Left to mourn are her son Dale; daughter Jenny; sister Becky Hansen; companion Phillip Bennett; grandkids Kaylee Killion, Kathy House, Cade Killion, Angel Kuntz; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 30, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where a funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City North.
